Square Two

   

Living here at Lake Tahoe, mountain imagery is everywhere. I've been kicking this idea around for a while, and the blog was a perfect opportunity to try it out:

I hope you can make out the lake in the bottom half, and the mountains above! The foreground in soft browns and greens recalls the mountain meadows that reach the lake's edge.

In keeping with my and Dustin's penchant for classical themes, I've named this one 'Tahoe-lympus', forgive the pun!

This square is made with size 11 Delica beads, edged with size 15 rocailles.

Dustin designed this dynamite square spiral for our first Warped Square Wednesday.

Notice the transition from red to black, and how he drew out the last black edge to make it a proper spiral. The colors come from our Arachne kit (apropos for this labyrinthine design), and we have a couple of those available in the Shop.

The basic threadpath for the Warped Square can always be viewed Here.

For the drawn out edge, you'll need to work the last four rows flat, either turning around at the edge or weaving through to position the needle.

Thank you for joining us at Warped Square Wednesday, where Kim Van Antwerp will share a new Warped Square pattern on, you guessed it, Wednesdays!
